Hilda Formby Hoffmann died Sunday, July 04, 2010.
A native of Picayune, MS she was the daughter of Lourie and Bertha Stockstill Formby. She was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. Hilda also was a legal secretary and a civilian courier for the military during World War II.
Hilda started several genealogy groups all over the United States involving mainly Pearl River County. She devoted her talents to genealogy for over 70 years.
Hilda was a member of the Colonial Dames and the American Heritage Society. She began her own library known as the Heritage Historical Genealogical Library in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years Emile "Jim" Hoffman, sister Hazel F. Dailey and brother Lourie N. Formby, Jr.
Survivors include : sisters Mary Ellen Davis of Picayune, MS, Sara Lynn Huffman of Picayune, MS, Frances F. Beeson of League City, TX, brother Ira Ned (Nell) Formby, Sr. of Picayune, MS, and sister-in-law Patricia Stuart Formby of Picayune, MS. Nieces and nephews, Lynda Dailey Case, Barbara Anderson, Steven Dailey, Janet Davis Allen, William P. Huffman Jr., Peggy (Jack) Huffman Abbot, Mark (Rita) Formby, Anne (Bill) Formby Hutton, Amy (David) Formby MacDougall, Lourie (Julie) N. Formby III, Richard (Brenda) Beeson, Robert (Ellen) Beeson, Ronald (Melissa) Beeson, Ned (Amy) Formby Jr., Cindy (Jay) Penton, Dean (Mary) Formby, Don Formby, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family thanks all her friends, care givers and Hospice for their help and appreciates all their kindness.
