James L Netto, age 58 of Kiln, MS, died Monday, July 19, 2010 in Kiln, MS.
James passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 14, 1951, in Tuscaloosa, AL. James was employed by the Hancock County Sheriff's Department when he became ill. He also worked with North Shore Marina, Slidell, LA; Breath's Marine, Bay St. Louis, MS; St. Tammany Parish Fire Department; and Hancock County Fire Serivce. Mr. Netto was a member of the Louisiana Association of Arson Investigator's; the MS Deputy Sheriff's Association; and the MS Fire Fighter's Association.
There were no strangers in James's life, only friends he had yet to meet. His greatest pleasure came from helping others. He helped many of his friends and neighbors in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Through his efforts to help his community, he made friends with people from all over the country. James' family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Hamilton, UMC; Dr. David Roberts; Mr. Kim Jones, West Hancock Fire and Rescue; Hospice Compassus, and his many friends who helped with his care during his last weeks.
A gathering of family and friends will be held after the service at The Pearlington Fire Department, West Division.
The deceased is survived by: his wife Jameye R. Netto of Picayune, MS; daughter Tonya Lynn Netto Smith of McCalla, AL; his son Christopher Myles Netto of Hominy, OK; step-daughter Kathleen P. Duplessis of Picayune, MS; two grandchildren, John and Justin Smith of McCalla, AL; two sisters, Annette (Lavon) Pierce of Mapleton, GA and Barbara Netto of Picayune, MS; two brothers, David (Jane) Netto of Prattville, AL, and Mike Netto of Lumberton, MS. James leaves to cherish his memory, special friends, Helen and James Lee of Picayune, MS, his church family of Christian Life Assembly of God, Picayune, MS; his co-workers of Hancock County Sheriff's Department and his ever faithful dog, Sebastian. Other survivors include a niece, three nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins.
The deceased is preceded in death by: his parents, Myles Netto and Shirley Garcia Netto; his grandparents, Christian (Christy) and Ida Webre Netto; Arthur (Pat) and Annette McQueen Garcia and Esther Deschamp Garcia; and one nephew, David B. Netto, Jr. | |
