Bonnie Sue Blackwood of Picayune, MS, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in New Orleans, LA.
Bonnie Sue Blackwood (nee Lytle) -loving wife, mother, sister, and friend- passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in New Orleans.
Bonnie was born on August 15, 1950, in St. Louis, MO, the youngest in the family. She graduated from Webster Groves High School and attended Southeast Missouri State College. Bonnie married her husband of 41 years, Bill, shortly after 1969. Their daughter, Sheri was born that year. Bonnie and her family lived many places around the country, settling finally in Bogalusa, LA, in 1979. Her son, Billy was born that year. While Bonnie moved away again years later, she returned to the area in 1999 to be close to her children and grandchildren.
To sum up the full rich life Bonnie lived would be impossible. She loved to travel with her husband often to their beach home in Dauphin Island, AL. Bonnie also loved quilting, and she often shared her creations with her loved ones. She enjoyed being outdoors, swimming, gardening, and exercising. Bonnie's greatest love was spending time with family and friends.
To those who knew her well, she will be remembered as kind, caring, generous, and compassionate. Bonnie was a caretaker for all who knew her. She was particularly concerned with Alzheimer's research, and her family would like to suggest donations to Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. .
The deceased is survived by: her husband, Bill Blackwood; her children, Sheri Blackwood Allen (Mike) and Billy Blackwood; her grandchildren, Jacob Allen and Audry Allen; her sisters, Barb Hunzeker (Alan), Lynda McGinley (John); and her brother, George Lytle (Margaret). | |
