Sherwood "Joe" Weems, age 73 of Picayune, MS, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Picayune, MS.
A native of Caesar Community, MS, he was a carpenter and a member of Union Baptist Church. Joe was also a member of Mt. Carmel/Southeast Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to fish and hunt. In his earlier years, he and his brother, Derwood, played in many music groups, including performing at the famous Louisiana Hayride. He played the guitar and sang. Joe was also a member of the "Who Dat Nation".

The deceased is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Mary Jim Robinson Weems, his children, Tracy A. Williams and husband Carl, and, Joe (Celeste H.) Weems, his grandchildren, Zachary Rester, Luke Rester, Cade Williams, Conner Williams, and Cooper Weems, and his sister, Wanda Mitchell.

The deceased is preceded in death by: his parents, Henry Arnold Weems and Mary Allie Martin Causey, and his brother, Derwood Weems. | |
